Tewksbury Crash Leads to Drugged Driving Charges for Wilmington Man

Multiple Tewksbury residents called 911 when a vehicle crashed into a home's front lawn.

Tewksbury Police arrested a Wilmington man over the weekend after he was allegedly driving under the influence of drugs.

According to an entry in the Tewksbury Police Department logs, several residents on Shawsheen Street called 911 on Saturday night.

The multiple callers indicated to police that a vehicle had crashed into the fence and front yard of a home in the area.

Police responded to the scene, where they found Walter F. Meehan, 32, of 26 Congress Street, Wilmington.

Meehan was arrested and charged with operating under the influence of drugs, negligent operation of a motor vehicle and marked lanes violation.
