Police Log: Feces in a Mailbox and Multiple Arrests

The following information was supplied by the Wilmington Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

The following is an excerpt from the Wilmington Police log from Monday, July 8, to Wednesday, July 10.

Monday, July 8

11:42 a.m.: An officer reported a baby fox running around by the water near Rotary Park, though it appeared healthy. The officer advised the children and parents at the park to stay away from the animal.

12:18 p.m.: On Cottage Street, a resident watched a woman place an item in her mailbox and she requested an officer. The responding officer found that a bag of cat feces was left inside the mailbox. The reporting party has a history with the woman she believes left the item. A 63-year-old Grove Ave. woman was summonsed for littering.

8:02 p.m.: A caller reported that he lost his wedding band at the beach today around 7:00 p.m. The ring is yellow gold with a white gold center band.

Tuesday, July 9

12:38 a.m.: Calling from Towpath Drive, a resident reported that about 10 youths jumped in his pool and then ran when he confronted them. Police checked the area but found no signs of any other issues or the involved parties.

2:40 a.m.: A woman flagged down an officer by CVS to report that she found a BB gun in the fields by Kock Membrane. Officers checked the area where the gun was reportedly found, but did not see any other issues. The gun was brought back to the station.

8:38 a.m.: While following up on a previous incident on Burlington Ave., police arrested Jose J. Ramirez, Jr., 34, of 37 Jackson Street, Lowell, on three outstanding warrants.

3:09 p.m.: Police arrested Krystal Duval, 21, of 21 Boutwell Street, Wilmington, on six outstanding warrants.

6:21 p.m.: Wilmington and Reading Police arrived at a Kelly Road home. Following the search of the home, Timothy John Doyle, 30, of 1 Kelly Road, was arrested by Reading Police for allegedly robbing that town's TD Bank over the weekend. In addition, he was summonsed by Wilmington Police for subsequent offense of possession of Class A drugs.

Wednesday, July 10

4:22 p.m.: A van pulled into a business parking lot on Middlesex Ave., possibly used drugs and then continued on. Police stopped the vehicle on Clark Street. Benjamin S. Stone, 36, of 48 McDonald Road, Wilmington, was arrested and charged with operating under the influence of drugs.

6:41 p.m.: Dispatch received a report of a pickup truck through a fence at Hess Express. It appeared the vehicle had brake failure and the driver pulled into the gas station in an attempt to stop.
