Police Log: Cars Entered, Bike Stolen, and Crash Leads to OUI

The following information was supplied by the Wilmington Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

The following is an excerpt from the Wilmington Police log from Friday, July 19, to Saturday, July 20.

Friday, July 19

2:25 a.m.: Wilmington Police assisted Billerica officers searching for a man who was seen breaking into a car.

9:31 a.m.: A Cedarcrest Road resident reported that her house has been broken into numerous times and paintings and oatmeal have been stolen. The reporting officer reported that it did not appear to be a break, and that possibly a mental health issue was more of the problem. The officer contacted the family of the involved person.

10:39 a.m.: On Middlesex Ave. a caller reported damage done to a door at their business. Also, threats were previously made to employees. Later in the day, the involved party made restitution and a glass technician was contacted. The person was advised they were no longer welcome at the business.

3:20 p.m.: Men were reportedly fighting in the parking lot of a business on Main Street. One of the men left the area prior to officer arrival. Neither the involved man or his girlfriend were willing to give the other involved party's name. There were no injuries in the incident.

5:40 p.m.: A bike was reported stolen from the MBTA Station on Main Street.

6:35 p.m. Police issues three citations following a traffic stop on Burnap Street. One was for an unrestrained child and two were for children not in their proper safety seats.

8:06 p.m.: On Pond Street, a resident asked to speak with an officer about large crowds at the beach. The resident expressed his concern about people at the beach urinating on his fence, which abuts the property.

Saturday, July 20

12:40 a.m.: Police were called to Shawsheen Ave. and Aldrich Road for a one-car motor vehicle crash. The driver was transported to Lahey Clinic with injuries. As a result, Brian Robert Dunn, 23, of 18 Champion Street, Tewksbury, was arrested and charged with operating under the influence of liquor, failing to stop or yield, and marked lanes violation.

8:45 a.m.: On Forest Street, an unlocked vehicle was entered overnight. The caller reported that $50 cash, loose change, CDs and glasses were taken.

4:16 p.m.: Walking into the station, a resident reported that three unlocked vehicles on Baldwin Road were entered during the night. The only thing taken was about 20 unscratched lottery tickets.

7:47 p.m.: A Lake Street resident reported that someone on Burnap Street was hitting golf balls into the lake. A few three-year-olds were hitting balls into the lake. Their parents were advised.
