Police Log: An Egged Car on Middlesex Avenue, Downed Wires and More

The following excerpt is from the Wilmington Police Department logs. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.


Sunday, Nov. 24

10:16 a.m. Police received a call reporting a vehicle had been egged overnight on Middlesex Avenue.

12:31 p.m. An officer reported a tree blocking the road on Wiser St. The officer moved the tree to the side of the road and notified DPW.

1:09 p.m. A caller reported while making a left turn onto Burlington Avenue from Main Street, her vehicle's side mirror made contact with another turning vehicle described as a maroon SUV. The SUV drove away after the reporting person had safely pulled over. 

1:49 p.m. A caller on Cabot Street reported a tree came down taking power lines, a telephone pole and light post with it. The caller reported they did not lose power but the tree was blocking the roadway. RMLD and Fire Department were notified.

3:10 p.m. A caller reported a tree took some wires down laying across two vehicles in the driveway, but were not arcing. 

3:13 p.m. Police received a call reporting a cable wire was down just past the intersection of Burlington Avenue and Chestnut Street. 

11:49 p.m. A caller on Park Street reported a male individual was knocking at his door and had left and walked across the street. The individual was wearing a green jacket and an orange stocking hat. An officer located the man and provided him a courtesy transport back to High Street.
