Police Log: An Arrest, Stolen Bikes, Possible Shoplifter and More

The following information is an excerpt from the Wilmington Police Department logs. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.


Friday, Oct. 4

11:38 a.m. Police received a call from a resident of West St. reporting she was attempting to rent her property via the website Home Away and had received a fraudulent cashiers check for over the requested amount and was asked to return the difference to the sender. She knew it was a scam and reported it to her bank. 

1:14 p.m. Officers served a warrant of apprehension to and arrested Jes L. Nazzaro, 22 Dorchester St., Wilmington.

1:39 p.m. A caller at Sovereign Bank reported three youths on bikes pushed a carriage in front of her vehicle and were last seen heading south on Route 38. The responding officer located the three in question at Bank of America and reported they stated they hit the carriage by accident.

3:37 p.m. Officers responded to a single vehicle crash into a pole on Glen Road. There were no injuries. The vehicle was towed and Reading Light and Verizon were notified. 

4:01 p.m. Police received a report of a black compact car on Cunningham St. near Salem Street occupied by a male wearing a hat following a visibly upset female who was stating "leave me alone." The caller asked the female if she was okay and the male became verbally aggressive toward her. Officers checked the area but the vehicle was gone on arrival.

5:15 p.m. A caller on Brentwood Ave. reported two bikes were taken from his yard, a black Mongoose bike and a black and blue Mongoose bike. 

6:19 p.m. A Cleveland Ave. resident reported an intoxicated female causing issues and the homeowner would like her removed. The Wilmington resident was placed into protective custody. 

11:23 p.m. An employee at CVS reported the larceny of a Dr. Scholls item valued at $50. The caller stated the individual in question possibly left in a white Mitsubishi Gallant with a New Hampshire plate and took a right onto Main St. toward Tewksbury about 10 minutes prior to the call.
