Police Log: A Stolen Tip Jar, Two Car Crashes and More

The following excerpt is from the Wilmington Police Department logs. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

Sunday, Dec. 8

11:55 a.m. Police received report from Starbucks on Main Street that two males stole the tip jar from the drive thru window and were last seen near McDonalds. 

The two individuals were described as male, one wearing a jacket with white and green stripes and the other wearing jeans with brown patches and a black sweatshirt, both on bmx bikes.

Responding officers located the two juveniles who were transported back to the station and released to their parents. 

Monday, Dec. 9

8:48 a.m. Police received a report of a minor hit and run crash at the Gulf station on Main Street. The caller reported his vehicle was hit by a Penski van. No matching plate entry was found. 

9:59 a.m. Police received report of a vehicle off the road with no injuries on Chesnut Street. The vehicle was towed from the scene.

10:07 a.m. Police received report of a car that had crashed off the road into the woods on I-93 northbound. State Police responded as well.
