Police Log: A Car Blocking Train Tracks, a Suspicious Vehicle and More

The following excerpt is from the Wilmington Police Department logs. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

Thursday, Dec. 12

9 a.m. Amtrack reported a vehicle was blocking the train tracks causing the approaching Downeaster train to initiate emergency procedure to stop. Officers respond and the vehicles were cleared prior to arrival.

11:58 a.m. A caller on Hillcrest Street reported a grey sedan pulled up to a house and the passenger went behind the home and came back with a bike and duffle bag. The vehicle then fled down Canal Street. Officers checked the area and could not locate anyone. The homeowner was notified.

As a result of this incident, a Billerica man was served summons for felony breaking and entering into a building during daytime and larceny over $250. 

7:38 p.m. Police received report that a suspicious vehicle was parked in front of a home on Swain Road. The vehicle was reportedly idling and occupied. Officers checked the area but the vehicle was gone.
