NEMLEC Assists in Search for Stolen Firearms

The following information was taken from the Wilmington Police Department logs. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

The following is an excerpt from the Wilmington Police log from Sunday, April 6, to Monday, April 7.

Sunday, April 6

  • At 1:11 a.m. Malden Police located a missing juvenile who had walked away from a Wilmington group home.
  • At 2:14 p.m. a resident on Jacobs Street requested to speak with the Animal Control Officer about an injured rabbit in her yard.
  • At 4:08 p.m. a Burlington Ave. caller reported an excessive amount of water in the street. Police checked the area and determined it was from a collapsed above ground pool in the neighborhood.

Monday, April 7

  • At 2:44 a.m. items were dumped, including a television, near the entrance to the water tower on Research Drive.
  • At 5:36 a.m. NEMLEC/SWAT assisted Peabody Police with a search warrant execution on Silverhurst Ave. The Animal Control Officer was requested for a loose pitbull. According to NEMLEC's Twitter page, the warrant was for stolen firearms.
  • At 10:11 a.m. on Salem Street a motor vehicle crash occurred. The Fire Department responded and transported a person to Lahey Clinic. A damaged dump truck was towed from the area by a private tow company.
  • At 11:20 a.m. a crash was reported on Church Street. One vehicle was removed from the culvert and a driver was issued a written warning for failure to use care and caution when starting or stopping.
  • At 7:24 p.m. a resident reported a lout bang on Salem Street. Nothing was found but Reading Municipal Light was notified to check the area.
