Intoxicated Man 'Out of Control," Taken Into Protective Custody

The following information was taken from the Wilmington Police Department logs. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

The following is an excerpt from the Wilmington Police log from Saturday, Feb. 22, to Monday, Feb. 24.

Saturday, Feb. 22

  • At 1:59 a.m. a 26-year-old Woburn man was summonsed for unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and given a written warning for speed.
  • At 1:36 p.m. a vehicle received a flat tire from a pot hole in the area of Koch Membrane Systems on Main Street. This was the second vehicle suffering a flat tire from the area today.

Sunday, Feb. 23

  • At 12:40 a.m. a male party was reportedly intoxicated and out of control. Police took a 20-year-old Wilmington resident into protective custody.
  • At 1:38 a.m. on Ashwood Ave. a resident reported that someone is attempting to leave a party at the home and they should not be driving. She would like an officer to speak with her. Peace was restored and the woman returned inside for the night.
  • At 4:21 a.m. a caller on Avalon Drive reported the vehicle drove into a snow bank. The caller assisted the operator getting the vehicle out of the snow bank, but added that the driver appeared intoxicated. An officer reports the incident involved a dispute between a boyfriend and girlfriend. The driver was transported to their residence.
  • At 7:49 p.m. a 14-year-old left their home after having an emotional meltdown, according to the juvenile’s mother. The juvenile resides at a group home in Concord but had left. The teenager was eventually located and picked up by her sister, who transported her back to Concord. 

Monday, Feb. 24

  • At 4:50 p.m. a walk-in party reported that their 15-year-old daughter has been missing since Saturday.
  • At 5:10 p.m. police made two arrests on Congress Street. John A. Ruplis III, 32, of 43 Linden Street Apt. 2, Everett, was arrested for distributing Class B drugs and conspiracy to violate drug laws. James Roche, 34, of 250 Congress Ave., Chelsea, was arrested and charged with two counts of distribution of Class B drugs and conspiracy to violate drug laws.
