Harassing Texts, Possible Overdose and Downed Trees Reported

The following information was taken from the Wilmington Police Department logs. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

The following is an excerpt from the Wilmington Police log from Wednesday, March 26.

Wednesday, March 26

  • At 12:25 a.m. harassing text messages were reported on Main Street at Cumberland Farms.
  • At 3:35 a.m. a possible overdose was reported on Cedarcrest Road. Officers cleared the scene while the Fire Department transported one person to a nearby hospital.
  • At 6:57 a.m. an unwanted person was reported at a Glendale Road residence. Police responded to the scene and advised both parties of their rights. Peace was restored.
  • At 10:50 a.m. a Beverly Ave. caller reported a suspicious vehicle in her neighbor’s driveway that may have left a package. The home check secure and the package was possibly left by a third party from Amazon. The vehicle was gone on police arrival.
  • At 11:56 a.m. a party reported that he sold a car as is and the buyer has called him four to five times requesting he refund the money and saying he is going to bring him to court. The reporting resident just wants the calls to stop.
  • At 1:55 p.m. a report of downed tree in the road on Forest Street was called in. The Department of Public Works was called in.
  • At 2:02 p.m. service from a home on Marion Street was pulled off the house by a falling tree, with wires in the road. A large tree took down several wires and made the road impassable.
  • At 3:29 p.m. a Winchester Family Medical Center employee reported a turkey by the employee entrance. They were not sure if the bird was injured, but it was there all day.
  • At 5:55 p.m. a street light on Main Street blew into the roadway.
  • At 8:21 p.m. a tree came down on Hopkins Street in the roadway.
  • At 8:23 p.m. another tree was taken down across the roadway on Denault Drive. A second tree in the area was damaged and starting to fall.
  • At 8:53 p.m. State Police reported a motor vehicle crash with injury. The Fire Department was en route. State Police handled the scene.
