Fire Department Responds to Overnight Fire

Wilmington firefighters were called to 833 Main Street early Wednesday morning for a fire that was controlled within about one hour.

According to scanner reports, the flames started some time around 1 a.m. inside a small residential building. 

At about 2:30 a.m., Wilmington Deputy Fire Chief John Brown told Patch that the fire was "under control," though it is unclear at the time how much damage was caused.
