Bicyclist Airlifted With Serious Injuries After Struck by School Bus Wednesday Morning

One person was transported from the scene by medical helicopter.

Wilmington Police said they are investigating after a school bus struck and injured a bicyclist around 8:15 a.m. Wednesday morning.

Initial scanner reports indicated that the bicyclist, an adult male, was struck on Tracy Circle at Woburn Street, causing serious injuries.

Reports indicated that a medical helicopter was required. Wilmington Police confirmed this later in the morning when they tweeted a photo of the helicopter on the ground with emergency workers loaded a patient into the waiting chopper.

Further information was not immediately available, but in their tweet, police said they are currently investigating the crash and more information will be provided later.
