What Do You Want in the New High School?

Let us know your thoughts on our Question of the Day in the comments section below.

Superintendent of Schools Joanne Benton has been to ask them what they would like to see inside the classrooms of the new school.

Town and school officials are in the planning phases to decide what equipment will be in the school, and what materials the building itself will be made of.

So for today's questions of the day, we want you to weigh in on the school planning process.

What do you want to see inside the walls of the new Wilmington High School? What is the most important item or items that should be approved inside classrooms? Do you agree with the plan to install artificial turf? How closely will you follow the construction project at the school?

Let us know your thoughts on these questions and anything else on your mind in the comments section below.

Let's have A.C. in the new H.S. leaving it out of the middle school was a mistake. It makes sense, so we can use the building year round.

WCTV would like to see a media/meeting room to optimally video the School Committee meetings. If that room has a lockable area to store our equipment. it would allow for more volunteers to video the meetings. Presently, the several hundred pounds of equipment limits the number of people who are able to carry, setup and equip for each meeting. Sandra Curtin

Let's see some common sense! There’s a huge amount of waste in these public buildings. I disagree with the use of such high-end lighting fixtures, though that's just a matter of opinion. What is more of a matter-of-fact as far as I'm concerned is that these buildings are often over engineered in the mechanical and electrical systems. I will be following construction closely my hope is that during the 2 to 3 years of construction that may be through my efforts I'll affect one change. Best not to set goals too high ;-) PS I agree old building should be air-conditioned, that's not the type of waste I speak about. PSS, disclosure, I'm a union air-conditioning mechanic :-) Matt how do I submit a letter to the editor?
