Thomas J. Galka, age 91

Life-long resident of Wilmington.

Thomas J. Galka, age 91, a life-long resident of Wilmington, died peacefully on February 23, 2013.

Tom was the beloved son of the late Anthony and Julia (Pulkowska) Galka, dear brother of Francis Galka of Winchester, Betty Chisholm of Littleton, NH, the late Sophie Stachelek, Helen Dango, Gladys Puchowski, Alice, Joseph, Waclaw, Peter, and Adam Galka. Tom was also the loving uncle of four generations of nieces and nephews and is survived by many dear friends.

Family and friends will gather at the Inc., 187 Middlesex Ave. (Rte. 62), Wilmington, on Friday, March 1st at 9:00 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Thomas Church, 126 Middlesex Ave., Wilmington, at 10:00 a.m.  Interment with Military Honors will follow in Wildwood Cemetery, Wilmington.  Visiting hours will be held at the Funeral Home on Thursday, February 28th from 4-8 p.m.

Memorial donations in Tom’s name may be made to , P. O. Box 536, Wilmington, MA 01887.  Tom was a U. S. Army Veteran during WWII and recipient of the Bronze Star, a member of the Teamsters Local #42 in Lynn, and he retired from Red-E-Mix following 31 years of dedicated service.
