Freemasons in Wilmington - Hospital Equipment Loan Program

I am re-posting one of my blogs regarding a Hospital Equipment Loan Program at Friendship Lodge.  We currently have two (2) portable gas oxygen tanks in need of good home!  Along with lots of other equipment just waiting to be used, please read on for more information.

Do you or someone you know need help with getting hospital equipment such as walkers, canes, or a hospital bed?  Do you or someone you know need a handicap ramp installed in their home?  Do you know where you can get these services locally for free?  Well I sure do, at Friendship Lodge in Wilmington.

Friendship Lodge participates in a Hospital Equipment Loan Program (or H.E.L.P. for short) with several other Lodges in the area. The H.E.L.P. program loans out hospital equipment of all sorts from canes and walkers to hospital beds and wheel chairs, all FREE of charge.  It doesn’t matter what your financial situation may be or where you live, all we ask is that you return the equipment when there is no longer a need so that it may be refurbished and loaned out again.  Most if not all of our equipment is donated, some of which is brand new or slightly used that is refurbished to be loaned out to those who need it.  This is just one way Freemasons here in Wilmington are doing their part to help out in our community.

Another program supported by your local masons from Friendship Lodge is our Handicap Ramp Program.  As a result of donations to Friendship Lodge from homeowners who no longer needed their ramps, we now have 10 handicap ramps that have been installed at local homes, and one that is currently available to be installed in your home if you need it.  The ramps can be modified and installed at your home generally within a couple of hours.  This service again is provided absolutely FREE. You do not need to live in Wilmington to have a ramp installed at your home.  If we have the equipment and we can get it to your house then you can rest assured it will be installed by a group of dedicated volunteers from Friendship Lodge.  You are probably saying “wow what a great service for the community but how can I get these services?”   The simple answer is all you need to do is just ask by contacting Friendship Lodge at (978) 658-6731 or calling one of equipment coordinators Brian King at (978) 658-4391 or Bernie Nally at (978) 658-3240.

With the rising cost of healthcare, these services have increased in demand and we want the public to know that Freemasons in Wilmington are ready to help and we are just a phone call away.  Please pass this information along to your friends and family or to anyone else you know that may need some help.   Freemasons have been part of the Wilmington community for our a hundred years helping out in many ways, and we plan to be here for many more years doing all that we can to make Wilmington a great place to live.
