VOTE YES FOR THE PURCHASE!!!  I am concerned that if the Town does not purchase this land a developer may come in and build an apartment complex, which would only create more traffic and possibly more over-crowding in our schools.

On Wednesday, November 13th at 7pm Wilmington residents will have an opportunity to vote at a special town meeting being held at the Middle School, located on Carter Lane. There will be three articles including the purchase of the property on Main Street currently owned by the Archdiocese of Boston.  The property consists of 7.68 Acres with a purchase price of $1,725,000 Million, which will be funded using free cash.

In an article on The Patch, Town Manager Jeff Hull said “while the town currently has no specific plans for the property; the town does have needs that the property could help address. Whether it be a town or school administration building, senior center or recreation facility, there are a number of different needs we have but as so often is the case, an opportunity like this comes up when you don't have a particular plan in place," Hull said.  For more information on the special town meeting, please visit the town of Wilmington’s website at http://www.town.wilmington.ma.us/Pages/index
