The  Black Falcon Pier, was the  scene  this  week  of the  second annual "Battle  Of The  Burger ", and  local  restaurant  owner  Paul Malvone, was among the  finalist  competing  for the  title  of best burger  maker in Boston and a trip to Miami ,for the  national championship, sponsored by Rachael Ray.
Paul Malvone  who with   Charles  Solari  and Sebastino Freca  own  the  Popular restaurant in Somerville and Boston  "Boston Burger Company . went to  the  "Battle  of the  Burger" as defending  champion, hoping to  repeat their  success with  this  year entry the  Vermonster. They  competed   against other  burgers  with  such  names as O.F.D ( Only From Dorchester), the  entry  of Wahlburgers and Chef  Paul Wahlberg, who is the  Brother of  Danny Wahlberg  and Mark  Wahlberg   both  well known  actors, or the  Sin  Burger  from the  Blue  OX, AbbyLanes  5 napkin burger, as well as seventeen  other  burger  bastions that fought for the  title  of  Best Burger  In Boston.
The  Battle  of the  Burger which  sponsored  by Boston Magazine and  Amstel beer , and this year attracted a crowd  of  about  5000 people, who  paid anywhere from $75.00 to $105.00 to  listen to  rock  music and walk  among the  burger battlers, and eat as many as the  burgers they  could, then vote for the winner, a daunting but fun task.
This  year the disappointed staff placed 4th  just being  edged  out  of third place by only a few votes but owners  Paul, Sebby and  Chuck  vow to return  to  take back their  crown  next year .
