Father Philip Earley celebrates 40 Years as a Priest.
On April 27th 2014, the Catholic Community of Wilmington and South Tewksbury Celebrated Father Philip Earley's 40th anniversary as a priest with a mass of thanksgiving At St Thomas of Villanova Church and a reception at Villanova Hall.
Fr. Phil as he likes to be called has been looking out for the spiritual needs of the people of St.Thomas since 1999, and St. Dorothy's parish since 2011, when he was named Pastor of both churches, taking over for Fr. Horrigan ,who retired that year. Fr.Phil has steered the two churches in to becoming one catholic family,and still finding time in his schedule to continue working part time at Catholic Charities for the Archdiocese of Boston.
Fr. Phil was born in Melrose, and spent his formative years in Massachusetts and the general New England. He answered the call to ministry attending St Mary's University and Seminary in the Baltimore area, were he obtained his B.A in philosophy and a Masters in Sacred Theology. Having a desire to learn the law ,he attended the New England School of Law,graduating in 1982 with his J.D and being admitted to the BAR that same year. Fr. Earley also Attended Brandeis receiving a Masters in Business. In 1986 Fr. Phil was admitted to the BAR, for the United States Supreme Court and is Certified to argue cases on Immigration Law before that prestigious body.
