The Festival of Trees helped raise money for adopted families by the Women of Wilmington.
As a light snow fell this past weekend to put folks in the Christmas and holiday spirit, the Women of Wilmington held their second annual Festival of Trees at St. Thomas Villinova Hall. According to Rebecca McGrath who was co-chair of the event, this is one of two fundraiser that the organization runs, the other being their 5k road race, that raises money for Scholarships adopt a family, and many other projects that benefit the people of Wilmington.
This year the Women of Wilmington gave out $6,000 worth of Scholarships, and adopted eight families with a total of 23 children for the holidays.
