12:00 PM - Blues on the Mandolin
In this session we'll take a look at some great examples from the 20's and 30's and work on at least two tunes from the Black mandolin canon. Participants should be at an intermediate or advanced level and are encouraged to bring a recording device. Bring a mandolin!

2:00 PM - The Guitar of Robert Johnson
This workshop will analyze some of Johnson's best-known arrangements in both open and regular tunings in bottleneck and conventional styles. Participants should be at an advanced-intermediate or advanced level; some experience with bottleneck playing is helpful, but not necessary. Participants are encouraged to bring a recording device and should bring a bottleneck or other tubular slide.

4:00 PM - Basics for Vocal Harmony
This workshop will get you grounded in chords and intervals that form the basics for vocal harmony and give you the tools to start finding harmony parts on your own. We'll learn how to find and sing harmonies above and below the melody line, focusing on two and three-part close harmonies which can be used to sing songs from country, bluegrass, old time music, and rock and roll. We'll work with exercises and songs that will give you a roadmap to help you find your harmonic way.

7:30 SPECIAL PERFORMANCE BY MARTIN GROSSWENDT!

Martin Grosswendt's powerful signing and mastery of numerous regional styles on guitar, mandolin, five-string banjo, and fiddle make his performances an event that audiences don't soon forget!
