Patriotic Vegetables: Seasonal Cooking with A White House Garden Cookbook

Let First Lady Michelle Obama’s
garden inspire your next meal when author Clara Silverstein introduces spring
recipes and other vegetable cooking ideas from A White House Garden Cookbook.
The book chronicles the first year of this famous garden, with its many dozens
of vegetables and herbs, including descendants of seeds planted by Thomas
Jefferson. She will show slides of the garden, share history and fun facts, and
give ideas to get you excited about cooking with just-picked produce. Recipes
come from White Houses past and present as well as community gardens –
including three from the Boston area – that encourage the next generation of vegetable
growers nationwide.
