Calling all Wilmington Recipes!

Community Cookbook Created by Collaboration of WHS Classes to Benefit Wilmington Food Pantry:  Seeking YOUR Recipes

WHS English classes, food and nutrition classes, and graphic design classes, along with the DECA business
club, are collaborating to put together a cookbook showcasing “famous family
recipes” of the Wilmington community.

The idea came from Ms. Desberg’s class; the students wanted to find a way to combine their non-fiction reading and writing with a community service project.Ms. Desberg said that many of her students told her “they have been
talking with grandparents, aunts and uncles from all over the country to collect their most treasured family recipes.”  With the assistance of Ms. Fidler’s graphic design students creating the artwork and Mrs. Torchia’s food and nutrition students editing the recipes, Mrs. Anderson’s DECA club members will market the final product.  All the proceeds from this Wildcat Community Cookbook will go to the Wilmington Food Pantry in order to stock the shelves in time for the holidays.

The aforementioned classes are soliciting recipes that are of value to you and your family.  They are asking all residents Wilmington to submit a recipe. Please go to the attacked link where you will find step by step directions to input your recipes. They are accepting submissions until October 16th. What a great way to share tasty recipes and help out families in need!
