Wilmington Schools Closed Again Monday

Teachers received the call on Sunday afternoon that classes have been cancelled for a second day due to the blizzard.

The snow has stopped, but the Blizzard of 2013 is still having an impact in Wilmington.

Word began to spread on Twitter that school has been cancelled, as it was Friday, and at 4:30 p.m. Superintendent of Schools confirmed the news in an e-mail to Patch.

Many sidewalks in the town remained filled with snow by weekend's end and many readers have reported that some side roads remain messy.

"Storm cleanup is going to continue a few days after the snow stops, but we’ll be working hard to get things back to normal as soon as possible,” Department of Public Works assistant superintendent Jamie Magaldi told Patch on Thursday.

Schools have already been closed in towns around the region, including North Reading and Woburn.
