Overnight Fire Damages Jade East Restaurant

An early morning fire caused between $5,000-$10,000 damage to the Jade East Restaurant on Route 38.

The two-alarm fire broke out around 3:30 a.m. and was called in by someone at the according to Fire Chief Mike Hazel.


After the initial Board of Selectmen's meeting was postponed due to overcrowding, the Board announced the controversial "gun ban" warrant article will not be on the finalized warrant facing voters on March 23.


Van Liew Endorses Joyce As Second Choice

Board of Selectmen candidate Roland Van Liew announced in a Wednesday e-mail that he will be using his second vote for fellow candidate Bob Joyce.


Two Arrested on Prostitution Charges in Reading

Ling Ling Wang, 47, of 61 Kenberma Rd., Worcester and Wen Qui, 36, of 144 Brook St., Quincy were arrested Thursday in Reading on charges of sexual conduct for a fee, according to police.
