'Get Out' With Holiday Fun This Weekend

1. HOLIDAY CRAFT FAIR

Why Go: Celebrate the holidays on Deming Way on Saturday as the Deming Way Tenants Association has its annual holiday craft fair. The proceeds will go to support the association's planned activities and special projects.

2. FESTIVAL OF THE TREES

Where/When: , Sunday from 9 a.m.-8 p.m.

Why Go: This is a family friendly holiday event that includes raffles of holiday trees, wreaths and baskets, a 2 p.m. performance by the children's choir, stories with Mrs. Claus at 4 p.m., a bake sale and much, much more. Proceeds benefit the "Holiday Adopt-a-Family" program and "High School Scholarship Fund." Log on to the Women of Wilmington website for more details.

3. GARDEN CLUB GREENS SALE

Where/When: , Friday from 12-6 p.m., Saturday from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. and Sunday from 9 a.m.-2 p.m.

Why Go: It's the holiday season, and a perfect gift for your friends and family is the gift of green. You can buy a variety of plants at this sale, which takes place throughout the weekend.

Pricing: Your choice.

4. TOWN CHRISTMAS TREE LIGHTING

Where/When: , Saturday at 4:30 p.m.

Why Go: Hayrides begin at 4:30 p.m. on The Common, followed by a ceremony at 5:30 p.m. The official Christmas Tree lighting takes place at 6 p.m. It's a perfect family event, and the weather is expected to cooperate.

Pricing: Free.

5. SEE A PLAY

Where/When: , Friday and Saturday at 7 p.m.

Why Go: The Children's Theatre Workshop presents "HONK!," a mainstage musical adaptation of the Hans Christian Andersen story The Ugly Duckling. Call (978) 988-5858 to order tickets or visit www.ctwkids.org for further information.
