Have a happy and safe Halloween, Wilmington!

"Five Things you Need to Know Today" is a Patch column that provides readers with essential, daily information at a glance.

1. Time for the question on many residents minds today. What will the weather be like on Halloween? According to Weather.com, temperatures will settle in at 61° on Wednesday, and there is a 50 percent chance of rain during the day. That includes showers during the morning hours that become less frequent as the day goes on, and by the evening hours there is just a 20 percent chance of rain.

2. Despite a trick from Hurricane Sandy, kids will be able to hit the streets on Halloween night. Trick Or Treating will go on as scheduled, the town confirmed to Wilmington Patch. That means get the costumes out, it's time to pick up some candy.

3. A trio of Wildcat teams will continue into the postseason in upcoming days, the first of which will hit the field tomorrow. The MIAA announced its field hockey brackets early this week. Wilmington earned the No. 8 seed and a home tilt against Marblehead at 6 p.m. on Thursday. The winner of the game's reward? A date in the second round with powerhouse top seed Watertown.

4. The storm is over, but some residents are still dealing with Sandy's aftermath. We will continue to provide storm updates as they are available on Wednesday, so be sure to check back throughout the day.
