Five Things You Need to Know Today, December 20

Thursday will be an extremely busy day for local boards, with four of them in action.

"Five Things you Need to Know Today" is a Patch column that provides readers with essential, daily information at a glance.

1. Thursday's weather will look very similar to Wednesday's. According to Weather.com, temperatures rise to about 45° on Thursday to go along with mostly cloudy skies. There is not much chance of rain, with only a 10 percent shot at precipitation.

2. Today is jam packed with meetings scheduled around town. First at 1:30 p.m., the Elderly Services Commission meets at the Senior Center, followed by a 5 p.m. Water and Sewer Commission meeting at Town Hall, Room 9. The High School Building Committee will hold its own session in the same location beginning at 6:30 p.m.

3. If you run a local business, let us know your holiday hours. Will your business be open on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve or New Year's Day? Let us know in the comments section of our article.

4. Do you have a news tip or something you'd like to see on Patch? You can e-mail Local Editor Matt Schooley, and also add your own content to the site. It's simple to post your own announcementeventphotos, or blogs directly to the site.

5. Are you a fan of Wilmington Patch on social media? Our total continues to rise and we're now up to 1,915 Facebook fans. All you have to do to join that following is log onto our Facebook page and click "Like." We've also got 1,280 Twitter followers supporting us, so be sure to follow us there as well.
