Reading Co-operative Bank Branch Manager Teaches Girl Scout Troop #63124 How to Save

May 7, 2014, WILMINGTON, Mass. - Reading Co-operative Bank’s Wilmington Branch Manager, Nancy Brown, recently taught Girl Scout Troop #63124 important lessons on how to save money. The half hour class serves as an introduction to savings, and is targeted at 3rd, 4th and 5th graders. During the class, the children are exposed to various examples and demonstrations on savings: to know what it means to save, why people save and how to save better.

"I am very happy to introduce these bright young ladies to savings. They ask so many wise questions and it is very rewarding to know that Reading Co-operative Bank cares about the education of the kids in the local communities,” says Nancy Brown, Branch Manager at the Wilmington Office of Reading Co-operative Bank.

"Great presentation! Nancy made it easy; so the girls understood the value of saving for a rainy day. I think they will go home telling their parents how they can choose an alternative way to spending that will help them to save their money,” says Troop Leader Alba Frasco.
