Blue Cross Blue Shield Of Massachusetts Welcomes Jane Williams as New Medical Director

BOSTON — July 16, 2014 — Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts (BCBSMA) recently welcomed Jane Williams, MD, MPH, of Wilmington, MA, as a new Medical Director. Dr. Williams will work with Blue Cross’ Alternative Quality Care providers and will support contracting, credentialing and corporate peer review efforts.

“We are very excited to have Dr. Williams join the Health and Medical Management team,” said John A. Fallon, MD, Chief Physician Executive at BCBSMA. “She has a wealth of clinical and administrative experience, a passion for improving care delivery and a great deal of energy. She will serve as an important an asset to our organization and members.”

Dr. Williams practiced family medicine for 14 years in the Merrimack Valley area.  Most recently, she worked as a Medical Director at Parexel International, providing scientific and strategic guidance to clients as well as supporting protocol development, regulatory submissions, evaluation of new technologies and safety monitoring. She received her medical degree from Albany Medical College and did her internship and residency in Family Medicine at Albany Medical Center Hospital. She earned a master’s degree in public health from the Harvard School of Public Health. As part of that program, she completed a fellowship at BCBSMA concentrating on quality of care issues.
