The Learning Experience Officially Welcomed in Grand Style

Wilmington's recently opened childcare facility celebrated its grand opening with Chamber of Commerce representatives and town officials on hand on Saturday.

The Learning Experience, Wilmington’s newest childcare facility, has been open for about eight weeks now. But on Saturday, the company officially joined the Wilmington business community.

Chamber of Commerce members and local officials were on hand for the grand opening ceremonies at The Learning Experience, celebrating a company aimed at molding the minds of young children.

“It’s incredible to see the building now. We came in, not even a chair to sit on, and we built up,” said Center Director Jennifer Spear. “It’s important to have the support of the community, so it’s really great to have everyone come out for the grand opening.”

The facility includes classrooms for ages six weeks to five years, along with after school care for children up to eight years old.

The Learning Experience is a growing company with multiple facilities in the region, and also expanding to New Hampshire as well.

Among the selling points of The Learning Experience are the company’s commitment to security and curriculum, according to Spear, a Wilmington resident.

Located behind Sonic, the building was built from the ground up in recent months, a process Spear said has been fun to watch since she was hired early in the process.

“We had to start training in an empty building. To think of it as a place where kids were going to learn and grow, it was hard to see at the time,” said Spear. “The colors were there, and we knew it was going to happen, but we couldn’t hear it. So that first day in August when we could hear those little feet running through the building, that made such a difference.”
