Selectmen Approve License for New Dunkin' Donuts

Looking for a place to grab a coffee and a bagel? You’ll likely soon have another option for where to stop.

During Monday’s Board of Selectmen meeting, members approved a conditional Common Victualer License for DJQ Donuts president Adam Quinn. The license is for the property at 66S Concord Street, where a new Dunkin' Donuts will open in the near future.

Quinn asked selectmen to restrict the hours the newest Dunkin' Donuts will be open to 5 a.m.-9 p.m. because he said more thefts occur during the late night hours.

In addition to the newest business, Quinn and his father, Mike, are franchisees for three Lowell Street Dunkin' Donuts locations and one on Middlesex Ave.

During the meeting, Quinn told board members the newest location is intended to be a convenient spot for the industrial area of town, another reason for restricted hours.

Planning Director Carole Hamilton recently met with Quinn, who is seeking an addition sign that will run parallel to Concord Street. Because the sign he is requesting is considered a secondary sign, Quinn will need to go in front of the Planning Board.

The front of the building is the side running perpendicular to Concord Street, so the main sign of the property is acceptable, according to Hamilton.

Following discussion with Quinn, the Board of Selectmen approved the Common Victualer License.
