New Wilmington Eatery Opens For Business

New restaurant is located just off Main Street.

There is a new entrant into the highly competitive world of Wilmington roast beef restaurants.

Rizzo's Roast Beef & Pizza opened its doors at 3R Church Street on March 18.

Owner George Rozopoulas said he has been very pleased with the reception the restaurant has received in the first week.

"It's been a grand slam so far," he said.

This is the third "Rizzo's" for Rozopoulas. He founded the chain in Peabody and Salem but has since sold the Peabody location.

The menu features pizza, calzones, subs, sandwiches, pastas and more for eating in, take out or delivery.

Rozopoulas knows his food and service will need to be top-flight to compete with local eateries featuring roast been such as Brothers Roast-Beef & Pizza, Simard's Super Roast Beef, Peter's Pizza & Roast Beef and Greg's Roast Beef.

Rizzo's is open 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. seven days a week.

When I drove by the sign posted on 129 last week I was pysched when I saw there was a Rizzo's in Wilmington and I immediately pulled in and ordered!. I work right down the street from the Peabody location and used to frequent it often. I moved to Wilmington last summer and haven't been able to find a pizza place I like so I am very excited, YUM!

Just split the Rizzo's Thanksgiving San'G'wich with my sister for lunch. FANTASTIC sandwich served on Tuesday's and Thursday's as a specialty item with oven roasted FRESH sliced turkey with cranberry sauce, mashed potatoes and topped with gravy served on a french baguette. Full menu, special price offerings, cool place to eat-in, food delivery is an option, friendly service and I would highly recommend giving this place a try! Good luck Rizzo's and welcome to Wilmington!

We just tried Rizzo's. We got a delivery it was terrible took 1 hour and 15 min. and we only got sandwiches. We called to check on our delivery and the girl put me on hold then hung up on me. Their food is probably good if you pick it up but they defiantly have to work on delivery and customer service.

We just had pickup...not delivery. Completely disorganized front counter. Two thirds of our dinners were ready, they said other would be up shortly. Fifteen minutes later, when we asked, THEY HADN'T EVEN STARTED MAKING IT! When we said refund, because other food was getting cold, we were greeted with attitude because "we are busy". Really want this to be good... Food was ok.... Service makes it highly doubtful we will be back. Bottom line, don't do a mass mailing when you haven't worked out the kinks. You only get one chance to make a first impression.

Went to Rizzo's yesterday with wife and son. Let me tell you the roast beef sandwiches are incredible. Juicy tender meat and large portions. My wife wouldn't stop raving about the grilled chicken salad. The staff were all very friendly and we received our order rather quickly for a new establishment. I will definitely be coming here on a regular basis.

Myself as well as several others had met and heard the owner state all of the other establishments in town are dirty. Not the way to make a good impression on towns people. He also went onto state should anyone from the nearby business's or the apartments within the same parking lot park in his establishments parking spots he will have them towed. Again not a good way to make a impression on towns people. As far as the food goes I had vowed not to eat there due to the comments. However my wife ordered pick up there. A large Italian she got me was well packed and the price was in line with other establishments in town. Personally I found it to be tasteless. Personally I do not believe in first impressions and people make mistakes. Therefore tonight I am going to try their pizza. People frequent establishments due to the staff as much if not more then the product they sell. Be careful what you say Mr Riz, You never know who you are talking to. I wish you all the luck !!!

I think Rizzos is so good and sooooo clean! I think the owner has his own opinion to say what he likes and he really is just telling it how it is some of the other establishments are filthy so be thankful for great food and a great place to go to! The staff is great and friendly and he has posted in his parking lot signs that say for Rizzos parking only I mean if you pay rent for parking then it should be for your own establishment and not for others especialy those who ride the train. Thank you Rizzos for coming to wilmington we love your food and your freindly staff you are five stars in my book!!!!
