King Triton Offers Veterans Free Car Washes

Business has held event for eight years.

It’s the little things that count. On Veterans Day, that’s where comes in.

The Main Street business will offer free car washes to veterans on Friday to honor the armed forces for the eighth consecutive year.

“I don’t know of many other places that give something away for absolutely free on any day,” said general manager Anthony Freniere. “We live in a different world now and we feel like members of the military don’t get a fair share of the thanks that they used to.”

There are four locations of King Triton in the area, and all of them will offer the same deal for veterans.

Wilmington Veterans Agent Louis Cimaglia said he is impressed by the business’ touching gesture.

I think it’s nice that companies like that recognize veterans and offer their services for free,” said Cimaglia. “Obviously I am passionate about veterans, and any time someone does something like that it means a lot to me.”

Representatives from 98.5 The Sports Hub will be at King Triton from 12-2 p.m. on Friday giving away merchandise as well.

Freniere said he hopes other businesses around Massachusetts, and the country, do their part in honoring those who put their lives on the line.

“These guys do their job, which is not pleasant or easy at all, and they don’t really ask for much in return,” he said. “I think it’s up to people and businesses in general to try and do as much as they can to recognize these heroes. It’s not a lot, but it is our little contribution.”
