Community Update

Yesterday I took my mother out for lunch and a little shopping. After we left a store in Woburn I suggested we go to eat lunch in Wilmington. I’ve been wanting to try Big Joe’s Depot in Wilmington since they reopened under new management. My mother ordered a Grill Cheese on Wheat with Tomato and I ordered a Ham and Cheese Omelet. In the last two weeks I’ve taken my mother out for lunch to two different places and she has ordered a Grill Cheese. Each time she gave me half her sandwich. Today she ate the whole sandwich without offering me a bite. Suffice to say, she really liked the sandwich. She also said the Coffee tasted very good. My Omelet tasted very good and I liked the fact that I could order breakfast food at 12:30 in the afternoon. I have not been in Big Joe’s in many years and it was very nice to see that the new owners gutted the place and started from the ground up. The place was very clean and bright. The new owner’s have kept one item on the menu that use to be a hit with customers years ago – The Meat Pie. Folks this thing looks like a Calzone on steroids. If you brought one of these to a Super Bowl party everyone would be very happy. Needless to say I’m going to have to pick my mother up in Medford and bring her back to Big Joe’s Depot for lunch again soon.
