'The President' Takes the Stage on Thursday Night

The winner of Patch's "Battle of the Bands," rap act, "The President," from Wakefield, MA, will perform his original raps on Thursday night at The Harp in Boston.

Wakefield rapper "The President" will be keeping it local on Thursday night during his headlining performance at The Harp (85 Causeway St.) in Boston.

The winner of Patch's "Battle of the Bands," , will be rapping 14 to 16 original songs with self-written lyrics and beats. 

"It's all local rap and hip hop," he said. "It's a chance to stand in front of everybody and tell my story with my music."

In addition to The President, fans will see rapper Nixon Nyce, rapper and producer Jae Fatal, and singer Kally Riddinger, three people who will perform alongside The President. 

Kermelewicz said that in addition to the song that won the contest, and obvious choice for the concert, he'll be performing, "Show me a Good Time," with Fatal, and Riddinger will be singing, "By my side."

"She's got an amazing voice," said Kermelewicz. "I finally got my studio set up, and we did a project together."

The overall feel of his music and content of his raps will vary greatly, Kermelewicz said.

"It's going to vary from serious, to down to earth, to party songs," he said. "It goes from really heartful music to really upbeat, partying type of stuff."

But Kermelewicz won't give away what's in store for the show's grand finale.

"It's a surprise," he said. 

With a video submission of his original song "," The President represented the town of Wakefield in . The competition saw 24 bands across Massachusetts submit videos of original songs for a shot at the grand prize: a headlining gig at The Harp in Boston, a custom-designed event poster from Plymouth graphic designer allisonkathleen, a cut/color at Avanti Hair Salon, a party bus ride around Boston on Bustonian Party Bus and lunch at M.J. O'Connor's.
