VIDEO: Arlene Ave. Edges Local Heroes for Hospital Bed Crown

Local Heroes rider Chris Pennie provides a first person look at the race.

Though there were many Fourth of July festivities, one of them had to have been the epic finish that took place on Friday on Church Street.

The rules are simple. Each team must push their bed to the halfway point, where their rider jumps off, squeezes the liquid (or specimen) from a sponge into a bedpan.

Whichever team crosses the finish line on the other end first wins, unless that team does not have at least six ounces of specimen in their bedpan - a rule that came into play on Friday.
