Final Chance to Nominate Wilmington's People of the Year

Let us know by Saturday who you think should win Athlete of the Year, Person of the Year and Teacher of the Year.

We've had several nominations for who made this a year to remember in Wilmington, and there's still time to make your selection.

As we look to prepare our Athlete of the Year, Person of the Year and Teacher of the Year articles for next week, we are looking for input from our readers.

Among the entries we've had for the Person of the Year are Paul Cardello for his work with iPods for Wounded Veterans, Lou Cimaglia for his contributions to Veterans Services, and now retired Town Manager Mike Caira for finishing up decades of service to the town.

Several residents also nominated Kevin MacDonald, who has clashed with town officials throughout the year. MacDonald has been a key figure in the appeal of the Wilmington High School project, which is currently in Superior Court.

There are also plenty of great choices for Teacher of the Year, as well as Athlete of the Year.
