Butters Row Bridge Closed Thursday and Saturday

Detours set up to allow MBTA crews to work on the train tracks below.

Residents traveling over the Butters Row bride will need to find an alternate route for two days this week.

On Thursday, the bridge will be closed from 7 a.m.-3 p.m. to allow work crews to prepare the existing timber deck for resurfacing. Then on Saturday, the bridge will again be closed so work crews can install a new wearing surface on the deck.

According to the MassDOT, traffic on the east side of the bridge destined to areas on the west side of the bridge will be directed to follow Route 38 North, turn left onto Route 62 West then and turn left onto Chestnut Street South.
