Find out what detour to take while repair work on the bridge is being completed.

The bridge carrying Butters Row over the MBTA Railroad will be closed between 7 a.m. and 1 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 27 to allow work crews to repair the existing wearing surface on the timber deck.

Affected traffic will be detoured as follows:

Traffic on the east side
of the bridge destined to areas on the west side of the bridge will be directed to follow Route 38 north; turn left onto Route 62 west; and turn left onto Chestnut Street south.

Traffic on the west side
of the bridge destined to areas on the east side of the bridge will be directed to follow Chestnut Street north; turn right onto Route 62 east; and turn right onto Route 38 south.

Appropriate signs, channelizing devices and traffic control measures will be used to guide drivers through the work zone and along the associated detour route.

MassDOT encourages drivers to reduce speed and use caution when travelling near the work zone and along the associated detour route.
