  • Friday will be mostly sunny, with a high near 96. There is a 20 percent chance of thunderstorms and showers. Some of the storms could produce heavy rain.
  • Friday night will be partly cloudy, with a low around 73. There is a 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms.
  • Saturday will be partly sunny, with a high near 91. There is a 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Some storms could be severe, with hail, damaging winds, and heavy rain.
  • There is a 60 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms Saturday night with a low 66 expected. Some storms could be severe, with hail, damaging winds, and heavy rain.

3. Today in Public Meetings: Elderly Services Committee will meet at 1:30 p.m. at the Buzznell Senior Center. Water and Sewer Commission will meet at 5 p.m. in Town Hall Meeting Room 9.

5. ICYMI: In case you missed it, Textron Systems in Wilmington is applying a material to the heat shield for the Orion spacecraft that will protect astronauts during reentry. Yesterday they held an open house for employees of Textron, NASA and Wilmington public officials to admire the heat shield.
