Nine earn entry into National Honor Society

WILMINGTON – Nine local teenagers were inducted into the National Honor Society at Austin Preparatory School in Reading on Monday, April 7.

Inductees were welcomed into the NHS by current members during the ceremony in the Chapel of St. Augustine, which culminated with a lighting of candles. After, the students and their families celebrated their accomplishment at a reception in the dining hall.

The guest speaker for the evening was alumnus James Connolly of North Andover, a member of the class of 1980. Connolly is an environmental scientist at Wheelabrator Technologies in Hampton, N.H. He travels the globe helping China and countries throughout Europe develop and operate waste-to-energy projects that convert municipal solid waste into energy in the form of steam and electric power.
