Austin Prep student earns recognition for artwork
The artwork of Austin Preparatory School’s Y. Jennifer Cha of Wilmington has earned two Honorable Mention Awards in the 2014 Boston Globe Scholastic Art & Writing Competition.
Jennifer, a junior at the Reading School, was nominated for the award by science teacher Jeanne Maurand of South Hamilton. At Austin Prep, she works under the tutelage of arts teachers Massoudeh Edmond of Arlington and Sheila Foley of Stoneham.
Jennifer’s two pieces, titled Beauty of Knowledge and Purify, are on display in the Reading school’s Murphy Art Gallery.
