Looking for top choice, fresh seafood for your Sunday dinner? Then you'd better get to the Wilmington Farmers Market early. Seafood Express offers a long list of fresh items each week at the market, but by the time the afternoon ends, the list has dwindled significantly. As a result, the company offers an e-mail list that provides the opportunity for customers to place orders in advance. "It is good to get here early," said Cheryl Faro of Seafood Express. "People love that (pre-order) feature so they don't have to get here and find out it's sold out. They can plan their meal."

For Matt Raskopf, every day is a learning experience. Raskopf works the Wilmington Farmers Market booth for Watertown business The Danish Pastry House, which brings breads, pastrys, and cool drinks to customers every Sunday. "Just working for them for a month, I've had the experience of getting to try some foods I've never had before and making dishes I've never had the chance to make," said Raskopf. "It's really just heightened my awareness of what good food can be and how easy it is to make when you do that."

Last year, Amanda Munsie was the Wilmington Farmers Market manager. This year, she's happy to spend her Sundays just chatting with customers. Munsie is a Wilmington resident and is the owner and operator of Bountiful Basket Farm. Each sunday morning and afternoon she sells fresh vegetables, eggs and more at her hometown market. "I love to talk and be with people," said Munsie. "It's a great way to spend a Sunday afternoon."

Time is running out to visit Wilmington's Farmers Market. The market is open Sunday, Aug. 28, and Sunday, Sept. 4, before it closes for the season. (With the exception of an appearance at the library's community day in late September)

Danielle Beaudette is a tea expert, and she's willing to share her knowledge with patrons at the Wilmington Farmers Market.
