The Fionda Committee is thrilled to announce the formal endorsement of State Representative Charley Murphy. Murphy made the endorsement at the Fionda campaign’s kickoff event at the Burlington American Legion Thursday night.
“I have known Dave for many years and am excited to endorse his candidacy.” Murphy said to a crowd of family, friends, voters, elected and union officials at the kickoff.
Dave is a Democrat running a write-in campaign to replace Murphy, who recently retired from the legislature.
Dave will bring his lifelong dedication to helping others to Beacon Hill. In addition to having been an elected Town Meeting member for two terms, he has been appointed to several town boards, including the Land Use Committee, and the Informational Services Advisory Committee. Dave is also past president of the Burlington Rotary Club, Past Rotary District Governor, single parent, coach, successful small business owner and entrepreneur.
“The primary responsibilities of a State Representative are simply to help people and be responsive to the needs of the community. Based on Dave’s community service and leadership record, I am confident that he will accomplish these duties with competence and will be an extremely effective state representative.”
Since Murphy’s announcement was beyond the June 1st date for candidate withdrawals, he will remain the only candidate on the ballot for the September 6th primary.
Murphy asked all voters in Bedford, Burlington and precinct 3 in Wilmington… “Don’t Vote for Me and Write-In Dave Fionda”.
