What Business Should Move in to Replace Staples?

Let us know in the comments section below what you'd like to see come to town with the recent announcement that Staples is closing its Wilmington doors.

Staples is on its way out. So what should be on the way in?

With the confirmation on Wednesday that the local Staples will be among the 30 locations across North America that closes its doors, there is now an opening in the plaza on Main Street.

Coffman Realty, which leases out the Wilmington Staples location, told Patch the company is already in the process of finding a replacetment for Staples.

But in the meantime, we want your input on what you think should go there.

We've already had some suggestions on the Wilmington Patch Facebook page, including several residents who would like to see Trader Joe's move in.

So it's time for you to play community planner. What kind of business would be the best fit for what is a fairly large retail space? Is there a specific business you want to see join the business community?

Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below, and check back with Wilmington Patch for updates on what ends up coming to town.

Denise -- Good news! Less than 5 minutes from Staples, down Rte. 38 in Tewksbury, the Merrimack Valley Pavilion (http://www.playatmvp.com) is opening in just a few weeks. It'll have mini-golf & laser tag for kids. I agree, though, it would be nice to have something like you suggest in Wilmington.

Robert, I've seen the development of that area. But that is always the problem for us isn't it..something in Woburn, something in Tewskbury, in Billerica, Burlington...nothing to actually DO in Wilmington. We do have a few eateries, but nothing to do.

Stacie, I think the monster minigolf is dying out..it used to be so crowded and now they're selling on groupon just trying to get people in the door....it was cute when the kids were little (again, most things are for the little ones)..but now that they've grown...just nowhere to go in this town.

How about a half way decent restaurant? Olive Garden? Texas Road house? We do not need any more sub shops or roast beef places. lol

We don't need another mediocre chain restaurant either. We already have 99 and Chile's.

A Dave and Buster's. Think of a much better Bostonville Grill. Better food, tons of big screen TV's for sports, arcade with games for all ages and lots of party rental space. I look forward to the Merrimack Valley Pavilion, but come winter, it's all lazer tag and pizza.

Trader Joe's or shoe store or restaurant other than national chain that offers fresh and healthier food.
Our kids in Wilmington are lucky to live in major suburbia close to a major city - what do your kids want to do that is not found within a30-45 ride?
