VIDEO: Scott Brown Meets Wilmington Veterans
United States Senator discusses issues currently facing service men and women.
Scott Brown is impressed by the efforts of Wilmington to support local veterans. He doesn't mind the town's fireworks either.
The United States Senator was at Knights of Columbus Hall on Monday morning meeting with members of the military and their families. Brown praised local efforts such as Local Heroes and iPods for Wounded Veterans.
He also said he was impressed last year by the respect paid for veterans at the annual 4th of July festivities, along with the always spectacular show put on by the town.
"Thanks for the fireworks," joked Brown as he opened his remarks.
Also during the day, Brown revealed the Veterans' Small Business Opportunity Act of 2012 that he'll be bringing before the Senate.
Brown offered opening remarks on Monday, followed by a question and answer session. He then made his way around the room to talk with veterans, met with the media, and left after about an hour while members of his staff remained behind to continue discussions.
