The SWAT team has left the area and the police told reporters the situation has been "resolved." The Wilmington Police could not comment as to the status of the alleged suspect at this time.

Resident John Waterman, who lives on Mystic Avenue said Wilmington police came to his house earlier this morning looking for the alleged suspect. Waterman is a long-time friend of the suspect, who only recently ran into him a month ago.
Waterman says the man in question has talked about suicide before and the suspect's parents, an uncle and a brother live in the Oakdale Road house. Waterman says he's worried about the family and worried the suspect will shoot at police.
The suspect, said to be a former member of the Air Force, is said to be known to police, who have been called out to the house five to six times in the past few years. Unconfirmed reports say guns and ammunition have been removed from the home in the past.

Neighbors have been evacuated in the area of Oakdale Road in Wilmington.
Chuck Shay, a resident of 21 Oakdale, lives across from the house from the scene. He was out walking his Golden Retriever this morning when he heard gun shots.
"I take my dog for a walk every day around the same time, around 7:30. I heard some yelling and then heard two or three gunshots, really loud shots," Shay says. "I turned around to go back to my house and heard all these sirens. I got back to Oakdale and was told I couldn't go back. I was told the neighborhood had to evacuate for SWAT. I've been here for 15 years. It's a tremendous neighborhood. You can leave your doors open."
Another neighbor Donald Holbert Sr. said he believes he heard shots at 3:30 a.m. He says he heard three "bangs."
Neighbors on the scene say they believe the suspect lives with father. There are reports of recent family strife. The suspect reportedly was living in tent in a local park after being kicked out of home. Neighbors said they have had problems with the man in the past.
Witnesses in line at the Wilmington Registry of Motor Vehicles told Wilmington Patch they were in line at 8 a.m. when they saw police cruisers flying down the street.
At approximately 7:20 this morning, police were called out to Oakdale Rd where shots were reportedly fired. Reports from the scene say a suspect has barricaded himself in a house on Middlesex Ave. and the SWAT team is allegedly on the way.
State Police, Wilmington Police, Woburn Police and Concord Police are all now on the scene.
WHDH, Channel 7 is reporting the shooter went to the home of his estranged parents and fired several shots. They are also reporting his parents were able to flee the home unharmed.
An NEMLEC Command Center has been set up on Middlesex Avenue across from the Registry of Motor Vehicles. Police have also set up a roadblock on Shady Lane Drive, but they are letting people down Pinewood Road. A state police helicopter is also circling the area.
Wilmington Police would not comment on the event except to say, "All I can say is this is an ongoing investigation."

Good work in keeping everyone up to date. Best report I've seen so far. I was watching the live feed on Fox before they took it down for the safety of the NEMLEC team.
