Seven Places to Buy Holiday Wrapping Paper

Wilmington Patch offers you places to shop, creative ideas and some helpful hints.

The presents you plan to give this holiday are bought or made or baked – mostly.

Now comes the wrapping. Maybe you've found your stash of wrapping paper. Or not. Or you don't have enough, especially for that one big, oversized box. Where can you buy holiday wrapping paper?

Here's a list of wrapping paper sources. All had a supply of the holiday staple as of this past mid-week.

In town, try the Dollar Tree, Cardsmart or T.J.Maxx on Main Street.

And in bordering Burlington, on Cambridge Street, there's Michael's.

Notice that the parking lots are getting larger, the walk to and from the car possibly longer, an opportunity to exercise during the calorie-rich holidays.

Also, try the Paper Store, either in Reading, on Walkers Brook Drive just off Route 128, or in Stoneham in the Redstone Shopping Center.

Finally, if you'd like an excuse to take an evening ride and look at holiday lights, consider the Christmas Tree Store in Lynnfield on Route 1.

If you're in the market for a little more creativity with your gift wrapping, consider fabric. A scarf or towel will cover an oddly-shaped gift well. A small present can hide in a stocking or even one of a pair of socks—holiday-themed, of course—which can become part of the gift.

Before you go on your wrapping paper ride, consider the following questions to save yourself a second trip out, when checkout lines will be longer and parking lots fuller. Need tissue paper? Bows? Nametags? And check your tape dispenser before you leave the house.
