Question of the Day: How Does Wilmington Handle Budgeting?

Start the conversation in the comments section below.

During the latest edition of our weekly Then and Now column, Christine MacKenzie looked back at the town's budget from 1846. Needless to say, things have changed over the years.

In that year, the town closed out its budget discussions with a whopping figure of $1,460.81. Wilmington's most recent budget passed at $78,554,184.

Now that we're on the subject of budgets, for today's questions, we need to know:

How do you think currently Wilmington town officials do in the area of budgeting? What areas do you think could be lower in the current budget? What has most changed over the years in town?

Answer these questions in the comments section below.

I think Wilmington does a great job with the buget. I feel so lucky to live in this town with the great leaders we have. Although some will disagree with me, but you can't deny the fact that we are lucky that there are no fees to play sports, no bus fees, no parking fees for our students!! Check out the surrounding towns: they are all charging!! Thank you to Michael Caira and the other officials that balance our budget!
