Prom Season is Big Business at Lynette's
Lynette's Limousine Service is subject of this week's Wilmington Business Q&A.
Editor's Note: The following questions were answered by Marco Delgado, General Manager of Lynette's Limousine Service as a part of our weekly feature, Wilmington Business Q&A.
How much does business kick up around prom season?
Compared to last year, we’ve had a 40 percent increase in proms. Last year was pretty quiet, probably because of the economy. This year people are a little more at ease. It helps too because we have lowest rates, which is why we’ve skyrocketed.
How much pride do you take in making a special event even better for your customers?
Our number one pride is our customer’s happiness. Upon training staff we tell them that no matter if it’s a wedding, prom or airport trip, you give it 150 percent effort. At the end, we want to make sure the customer’s satisfaction was as high of a level as possible. We do a lot of surveys, and we score 5.0 across the board. Our customers are happy with vehicles, and staff of chauffeurs. We pride ourselves on excellence, and that’s it. If they’re not happy, we’re not happy.
How long have you been in business for?
We opened our doors in 1984, so we’re on the verge of 30 years. It’s a very tough business to last this long in. It all goes back to our customers. If they’re not happy they won’t book, refer us, or suggest to friends and neighbors. We’ve done a good job of securing customers, who play a huge role in gaining repeat business.
Why is Wilmington a good place to run a business?
Wilmington is a wonderful town to do business in in general. The locale is big. Being only 20 minutes from Boston and 15 minutes from southern NH, we’re right in the middle for Manchester Airport and Logan trips. We’ve been at this location for 15 years. People know us well because of our location. They know of our fleet. We’re always adding bigger and nicer equipment to our fleet and we’re always looking to grow.
What separates your business from other similar companies in the area?
It’s the variety of vehicles. We have everything from corporate sedans to stretch limousines. We have stretch limos, stretch SUVs, and we also have classic wedding cars. Our limo buses are what’s hot right now. We stay ahead of our competition, and by taking those risks and chances, going after vehicles that are in most people’s eyes unaffordable, it’s been a big success.
